CIEL offers legal fellowships for recent law graduates, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of international environmental law. Legal fellows are typically expected to work either full-time or part-time during the academic year, often receiving academic credit in return.
Key responsibilities for legal fellows include conducting research and drafting reports on international law and policy matters, assisting in policy analysis and advocacy initiatives, attending relevant meetings and conferences, contributing to the production of CIEL publications, and collaborating closely with CIEL staff on various projects.

- Fellows are required to secure their own funding, which may come from universities, third parties, or scholarships.
- Please be aware that a future position at CIEL cannot be guaranteed for legal fellows.

Qualifications:
- Candidates must have recently obtained or be nearing completion of a graduate law degree (e.g., LLM, JD).
- A minimum commitment of three months is required.
- Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional research and writing abilities along with a strong commitment to public interest law.
