Job Description
The Legal Project Officer will ensure the legal compliance of our disciplinary record management system by closely collaborating with the Compliance & Investigations team in managing reimbursement investigations for legal compliance and efficiency. This role will also focus on resolving cases of fraud and misconduct, conducting recovery actions for misappropriated funds throughout Burundi. Additionally, the Legal Project Officer will manage the relationship between the One Acre Fund and external legal counsel, ensuring effective follow-up on cases in court.
Responsibilities
- Advise Human Resources on disciplinary actions and fraud case management.
- Coordinate and evaluate the work of external attorneys in defending against wrongful termination claims and civil judgments.
- Participate regularly in HR working groups as necessary to address these issues.
- Enhance and strengthen recovery processes for misappropriated funds.
- Support in managing judicial matters regarding reimbursements and legal proceedings.
- Train investigative teams on legal requirements, internal expectations, tools, and processes necessary for conducting thorough investigations.
