Reports To: Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Chef
General Purpose: As a Line Cook at Idol Wolf, you will be responsible for cooking hot food products accurately and efficiently, preparing and portioning ingredients before cooking. Your role will involve additional tasks in food and plate preparation, including plating and garnishing cooked items to ensure they meet our high standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the menu and the techniques necessary to execute dishes flawlessly.
Arrive on time, prepared for your scheduled shift.
Collaborate effectively as part of a team, focusing on achieving common goals.
Bring your essential tools to work, including microplanes, knives, honing steel, tongs, spatula, and plating spoons (the restaurant will provide any additional required tools).
Recognize the importance of tasting and seasoning dishes appropriately, regardless of their simplicity.
Utilize various cooking methods and heat sources effectively.
Receive constructive criticism positively, even from peers.
Possess knowledge and experience with a variety of ingredients, including proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, spices, and vinegars.
Engage in continuous learning and inquiry about food and cooking.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service.
Assist sous chefs with ordering and prep lists by knowing station setup and pars.
Identify product quality and freshness effectively.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
