The Linen Porter plays a vital role in managing linen stocks within the Linen Room and ensuring efficient distribution across various hotel departments. This position supports the Linen and Uniform Porters, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
- Manage and oversee laundered items within the Linen and Laundry areas.
- Assist with linen deliveries in pantry and service areas.
- Oversee the issuance and dispatch of uniforms for staff and contractors.
- Ensure a remarkable guest experience by minimizing oversights, damages, and delays.
- Coordinate with Laundry, guest work contractors, and equipment suppliers for maintenance.
- Act as deputy during the Laundry Manager’s absence.
- Represent The Raffles London at The OWO as an ambassador during interactions with guests and colleagues.
- Ensure all floors are adequately stocked with linen for efficient guest room turnover.
- Regularly clear dirty linen from floors.
- Deliver bedding items to room attendants upon request.
- Manage pantry stock levels effectively and promptly.
- Take responsibility for linen and equipment in the laundry.
- Facilitate smooth linen delivery and collection processes.
- Safely maneuver trolleys in corridors and back stairs.
- Communicate with Room Attendants and Laundry Manager about linen issues.
- Ensure guest laundry billing is properly handed over to the Housekeeping Coordinator.
- Assist with the delivery and maintenance of staff uniforms.
- Maintain the hotel’s linen inventory.
- Prioritize daily tasks to enhance workflow.
- Support the Laundry Manager during stock take activities.
- Exhibit flexibility in working hours as per business needs.
- Fill in for house porter and night shifts when necessary.
- Maintain clean and efficient storage areas to uphold the highest hotel and departmental standards.
- Present a professional image by being well-groomed and wearing a clean uniform at all times.
- Behave in a courteous and professional manner towards all guests at all times.
- Respect guest privacy by being discreet and respectful in corridors and service areas.
- Work meticulously within set time frames, paying high attention to detail.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in different departments or restaurants as needed.
Leadership
- Update work assignments in Knowcross.
- Report any defects in rooms to relevant departments.
