Overview of Job Description
- Classification: Non-exempt, full-time employee (40 hours/week)
- Reports to: Property Manager & Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Technician (MT) plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep of multifamily properties. Responsibilities include apartment turnover, managing work orders, maintaining grounds, and performing a variety of essential maintenance tasks. The MT is primarily responsible for their home property while also supporting regional properties as needed. Key duties encompass carpentry, electrical, plumbing, janitorial services, HVAC maintenance, drywall repair, painting, appliance service/installation, snow removal, landscaping, pest control, and pool maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
To excel in this position, the Maintenance Technician must:
- Perform tasks that involve heavy lifting and physical exertion
- Work both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
- Climb stairs and ladders as necessary
- Engage in various physical movements including walking, crawling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending, and twisting
- Safely operate tools, vehicles, and machinery
- Participate in an on-call rotation, which may require after-hours travel to properties
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned
