Role Overview
The Manager, Air Partners (MY) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and nurturing strategic collaborations with airlines, primarily focusing on ACMI and GSA models. This position ensures the establishment of commercially robust agreements, reliable access to capacity, and the enhancement of partner performance. Responsibilities include contract management, partner negotiations, commercial governance, and facilitating cross-functional cooperation to bolster revenue growth and meet network objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Air Partner Strategy & Management
- Cultivate and manage relationships with airline partners in MY employing various capacity partnership models such as Interline, Freighter deployments, Freight forwarding, and GSA.
- Formulate partner strategies in alignment with network, pricing, and commercial goals.
- Serve as the primary escalation and decision-making point for partner-related commercial issues at the station/regional level.
Contracting & Commercial Negotiation
- Lead negotiations and oversee the management of air partner agreements, including interline, SPA, block space, capacity, and cooperation agreements.
- Ensure that commercial terms (rates, capacity commitments, incentives, penalties, SLAs) are competitive and sustainable.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
Capacity & Performance Oversight
- Guarantee effective utilization of contracted capacity in alignment with demand through close communication with Sales, Solutions, and Revenue Management teams.
- Monitor partner performance based on contractual commitments (capacity delivery, service levels, reliability, cost) and proactively address any discrepancies to minimize leakages.
- Identify underperformance, risks, or leakages and implement corrective actions with partners and internal teams.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Pricing, Sales, Revenue Management, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure seamless execution of partner agreements.
- Align partner strategies with market demands, customer expectations, and operational limitations.
- Represent the company in partner meetings, reviews, and commercial forums in MY.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all partner agreements adhere to internal governance standards, regulatory requirements, and aviation norms in close coordination with the HQ contracts team.
- Maintain thorough documentation, approval trails, and records that are audit-ready.
- Identify contractual, financial, and operational risks while recommending strategies for mitigation.
Market & Commercial Insights
- Monitor market trends, competitor partnerships, and capacity developments in MY.
- Provide insights to inform strategic decisions and enhance competitive positioning.
