The Los Angeles 2028 Games will mark the Summer Games' triumphant return to the U.S. after 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting the Olympics, as well as its first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. Position: Manager of State Affairs
The Government Relations team is crucial in fostering and maintaining LA28’s partnerships with elected and appointed officials across all levels of government, ensuring the successful execution of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Manager of State Affairs will be instrumental in enhancing LA28’s relationships with state partners in California, facilitating coordination among government stakeholders and executing LA28’s state advocacy initiatives.
This role serves as a primary contact for California state legislative offices, statewide administration officials, and various agency and department partners. The Manager will coordinate workstreams related to California, monitor legislative and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and risks, and drive LA28’s state legislative, budget, and regulatory priorities while developing engagement strategies to secure vital support for the Games.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, be detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where organization, adaptability, and effective communication are essential. A passion for public service and a strong interest in the Olympic and Paralympic movements are highly desirable.
