About the job
At REGENT, we are on a transformative journey to redefine regional transportation across coastal cities. Our innovation extends beyond merely constructing vehicles; we are pioneering a novel category of transport—the seaglider. These revolutionary wing-in-ground-effect vehicles glide just above the water's surface, merging the rapidity of an aircraft with the economical operational costs of a boat. With a range of 180 miles at speeds of 180 mph using current battery technology, and potentially up to 400 miles with next-gen batteries, seagliders will facilitate swift, cost-effective, and eco-friendly coastal transit for both passengers and cargo, linking cities, islands, and communities in unprecedented ways.
Supported by prominent investors and driven by a collective of dedicated, innovative engineers, builders, and operators, we are advancing from a successful prototype to full-scale production—expanding our team to realize this vision.
Role Overview:
As the Manager of Systems Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in determining how REGENT constructs safe, certifiable vehicles at scale.
This position encompasses not just the management of systems engineering but also the influence of the organization’s approach to requirements, safety, and certification. You will guide a central team in vehicle engineering, bridging ambitious vehicle concepts with structured, certifiable systems, instilling safety and thoroughness from the outset.
You will mentor and develop an expanding team of systems engineers, elevating their technical acumen, decision-making capabilities, and engineering rigor. Concurrently, you will collaborate across the organization to ensure that systems engineering acts as a catalyst rather than an obstacle, empowering teams to operate swiftly while adhering to certification mandates.
Success in this role is defined by the establishment of both a robust team and a scalable system: engineers who command trust within the organization and processes that grow in tandem with the company as we transition from prototype to production.
If you thrive at the nexus of cutting-edge innovation, tangible impact, and hands-on engineering, this is the ideal opportunity for you - we would be excited to welcome you to our team!
