ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our systems meet rigorous testing standards, allowing us to consistently deliver top-quality products to our clients. You will be responsible for achieving the necessary production throughput and will need to think innovatively to devise solutions for complex testing challenges. Your focus will be on enhancing our automation methods, improving throughput, refining user interfaces, and optimizing data analytics.
Please note that this position will be temporarily based in Santa Ana, CA for a three-month training period before transitioning to Asheville, OH.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee testing activities in production and maintain the flow of production tests. Actively troubleshoot and resolve intricate electrical issues encountered during testing.
- Ensure test capabilities are maintained throughout the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts to key component-level process validation.
- Enhance and uphold existing test systems to boost automation, consistency, cycle time, and test coverage (Design for Manufacturability).
- Create clear and comprehensive test work instructions for the technician team within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Provide necessary training on equipment use.
- Develop a library of common failure modes with accompanying troubleshooting guides and diagrams for quick issue resolution.
- Identify root causes of product failures and suggest appropriate corrective actions (Root Cause Corrective Actions).
- Collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to assist with customer returns and failure analysis.
- Provide input to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI) processes.
- Analyze test data, document findings, and deliver detailed reports to highlight defects and suggest areas for improvement.
