The Opportunity
As the leader of a talented team, you will oversee low latency market data connectivity, which constitutes the backbone of 95% of our company’s data transfer. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing high-level system architecture for global data dissemination.
- Maximizing CPU efficiency to support our low latency trading strategies.
- Enhancing data encoding to minimize shared memory usage and conserve bandwidth on our high-speed network lines.
- Optimizing existing venue connectivity to leverage trading systems and outperform competitors.
- Establishing connectivity with new venues to broaden our market presence.
- Prioritizing team projects within the larger company framework.
- Fostering the development and growth of engineering team members.
Who You Are
Our ideal candidate possesses:
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong critical thinking skills to anticipate design flaws and potential obstacles.
- Extensive knowledge of market data (experience in traditional finance is acceptable, but cryptocurrency experience is highly preferred).
- Proficient network programming skills, including kernel bypass techniques and familiarity with network protocols (Websockets/HTTP/TCP/UDP/IP).
- Advanced proficiency in C++ at a low level.
- Expertise in inter-thread/process communication and knowledge of lockless shared memory data structures.
- Good understanding of hardware (CPU, memory, NUMA, NIC).
- Solid knowledge of Linux systems.
