Join our team at emcocorporation as a dedicated Material Handler, where your primary role will involve efficiently picking, packing, and shipping customer orders. You will also be responsible for counting, verifying, receiving, and storing incoming vendor materials and customer returns. Your meticulous attention to detail is crucial in ensuring top-notch customer service and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations while executing your duties.
- Load and unload trucks, and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Receiving responsibilities include:
- Verify the material received by checking packing slips against the shipment, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Print and confirm computer receiving documents and accurately enter received materials into the system.
- Identify and properly store special order and damaged materials.
- Document all shipping discrepancies on freight carriers’ Bills of Lading, initiate claims, and direct paperwork to the appropriate team member.
- Picking, packing, and shipping tasks include:
- Accurately pick materials for customer orders, ensuring quantities match shipping documentation.
- Assemble and package materials for customer pickup or shipment.
- Complete necessary documentation for third-party carrier shipments and those requiring Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation.
- Report any inventory discrepancies and damaged or defective materials to the Supervisor, ensuring customer service levels are maintained.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the warehouse by removing empty cartons, metal banding, pallets, and debris.
- Notify the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Profit Centre Manager about any safety concerns within the warehouse.
- Assist team members in customer service at the counter.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager.
