Position Overview:
The Material Planner and Logistics Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective planning, procurement, and management of materials and logistics to support production and operational requirements. This position entails coordination with suppliers and customers, inventory management, and optimizing the supply chain to align with production schedules and meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Planning: Formulate and sustain material plans to guarantee the timely availability of raw materials and components for production. Assess demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory levels to develop precise material requirements.
- Supplier Coordination: Partner with suppliers and customers to oversee procurement processes, negotiate terms, and ensure the punctual delivery of materials. Evaluate supplier performance and resolve any issues that could affect the supply chain.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, monitor material usage, and implement strategies to optimize stock levels while reducing excess inventory and stockouts. Conduct routine inventory audits and address discrepancies.
- Logistics Coordination: Organize and manage logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Ensure materials are delivered to designated locations promptly and in excellent condition.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Evaluate data related to material utilization, inventory levels, and overall supply chain performance. Generate reports and presentations to communicate findings.
