Overview
The Materials Purchasing Manager (Heavy Maintenance & Reporting) plays a vital role in formulating and implementing strategies that optimize the procurement of aircraft parts and materials. This position oversees the technical procurement process, ensuring that the right goods and services are obtained in the correct quality and quantity, all while achieving the best total cost of ownership. The manager will negotiate with and select preferred vendors for routine purchases, establishing programs that guarantee the availability of reliable parts and materials precisely when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
We will consider a combination of education and experience. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. as stipulated by the Immigration Act of 1986 and must pass a criminal background check.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years in aerospace, supply chain, or operations.
- At least three (3) years in a supervisory role with process optimization experience.
- Experience in database management and business operations.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage diverse activities effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or another advanced degree.
- Experience in vendor management or negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully support aircraft material demands during Heavy Maintenance and Induction phases.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Lead Buyers.
- Develop requests for proposals (RFPs) and evaluate qualified suppliers.
- Negotiate terms with vendors to secure maximum value for the company.
- Establish terms, conditions, and pricing for aircraft component purchasing.
- Identify preferred vendors for common purchases.
- Implement programs to ensure adequate stock of parts and materials.
- Collaborate with vendors to enhance repair programs that improve the reliability of aircraft components economically.
- Conduct financial analyses to justify purchasing decisions.
- Perform spend analysis to identify improvement opportunities and manage aging purchase orders in collaboration with the Manager of Material Systems and Analytics.
- Drive automation in the procurement process.
- Provide ongoing reports and updates to senior management.
