Summary: The Materials Supervisor oversees and manages the storage and distribution of purchased components, fabricated details, sub-assemblies, and assemblies built to stock. This role involves preparing and maintaining accurate inventory transactions and records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under general supervision, the Materials Supervisor will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including:
- Managing responsibilities in Shipping, Receiving, Stores, and Material Handling.
- Allocating tasks to employees based on workload and providing guidance on work assignments, addressing queries, and resolving issues as they arise.
- Ensuring that shop orders are processed in the correct sequence as outlined by the Dispatch Report PC 1235.
- Monitoring the issuance and receipt of materials to and from the shop floor to maintain complete control of stored physical inventory.
- Keeping records of shop orders released to the floor with shortages and issuing those shortages upon receipt into stores.
- Supervising the physical inventory count in designated stores areas and notifying the Scheduler of expired shelf life items.
- Collaborating with the Production Control Supervisor on processing termination claims, including overseeing the pulling, packaging, and storage of terminated inventory.
- Promoting effective employee management through clear interpretation of instructions, company policies, classifications, wages, and performance reviews.
- Ensuring all shipping parts are packaged and dispatched according to customer orders while adhering to company and ITAR regulations.
- Guaranteeing the timely receipt of all parts and promptly resolving any related issues.
- Defining, outlining, training, and reinforcing departmental procedures and policies.
- Measuring departmental and employee productivity through KPIs.
- Assisting in leading the annual full Physical Inventory.
- Maintaining control over departmental discipline, safety, and cleanliness.
- Complying with all Senior policies and procedures.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
