Role Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer within our Advanced Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in designing the next generation of data center infrastructure. Your focus will be on creating cutting-edge High and Low Voltage Direct Current (HVDC/LVDC) electrical systems and developing innovative thermal and magnetic solutions that guarantee the dependable operation of millions of GPUs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical and thermal design of HVDC/LVDC power distribution systems and high-power electronics for extensive multi-gigawatt GPU data center deployments.
Create designs for enclosures, structural assemblies, and integrated cooling systems for high-voltage DC power equipment and electronics.
Conduct thermal analysis (CFD) and devise effective heat dissipation strategies for high-power density systems, including cold plates, heat exchangers, busbars, and airflow management.
Address challenges related to high-current busbar design, including conductor sizing, thermal interface optimization, and electrical contact resistance management for multi-megawatt systems.
Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC shielding, creepage/clearance requirements, and the mechanical integration of power modules, capacitors, and semiconductor devices into compact, high-reliability packages.
Define and implement mechanical and thermal validation testing, including structural FEA, thermal cycling, vibration, and environmental qualification for power electronics assemblies.
Your Profile
A minimum of 7 years of mechanical design experience in power systems, high-power electronics, or energy infrastructure, with a robust background in thermal management.
Extensive knowledge in structural design, heat transfer, CFD analysis, electronics packaging, and outdoor-rated electrical equipment enclosures.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex engineering projects with a focus on quality and innovation.
