About the job
The aerospace industry is on the brink of a revolution, with spacecraft representing a critical gap that needs to be filled. As more launch vehicles become operational and the costs of reaching orbit decrease, an increasing number of companies are emerging to launch payloads into space.
This unprecedented surge in payload companies, coupled with reduced launch costs, has created an enormous demand for commercial spacecraft platforms, commonly referred to as satellite buses. These platforms are essential for housing our customers' payloads and are designed to be launched into space.
At Apex, we manufacture these satellite buses at scale, leveraging advanced software, vertical integration, and purpose-engineered manufacturing hardware. Our spacecraft are pivotal to the future of society, supporting endeavors ranging from Earth observation to telecommunications and beyond.
Join us in our mission to provide humanity with access to the cosmos beyond our planet.
About the Role
Apex is in search of a skilled Propulsion Mechanical Engineer to take charge of the mechanical designs for our spacecraft propulsion systems. You will lead the design, analysis, and qualification of propulsion hardware, ensuring its reliability through the demanding conditions of launch and extended on-orbit operations. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including mechanical design, fluid system development, thermal interface management, and flight hardware qualification, with complete oversight from initial concept to flight readiness and operational performance.
You will collaborate closely with propulsion, thermal, avionics, and systems engineering teams to deliver robust and reproducible propulsion hardware designed for production spacecraft.
