About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Co-op for the Fall 2026 term (July - December) to assist in the development and testing of sub-systems. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, adaptability, and a willingness to take on diverse responsibilities. You will be encouraged to self-learn and apply new skills to your projects, with mentorship available throughout your experience.
Responsibilities:
Design, construct, and operate mechanical systems, test fixtures, and specialized production equipment.
Collaborate with full-time technical staff to develop comprehensive system requirements for projects.
Conduct sub-system level analysis, design, and assembly.
Quickly and effectively document design decisions and test outcomes.
Create, document, and implement mechanical testing methods.
Engage in CAD modeling, tolerance analyses, and the creation of 2D drawings.
Utilize Alloy’s hardware and software to manufacture customer components.
Generate tickets, provide constructive feedback, and troubleshoot software, processes, and hardware issues.
Requirements:
Demonstrate ownership and accountability for your projects, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment, showing flexibility and adaptability.
Have a keen interest in the intricate details of part design, material selection, and drafting.
Previous co-op or internship experience in the industry is highly preferred.
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, milling, lathe operation, and laser cutting is advantageous.
