Join Continental as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, where you will actively contribute to our engineering, maintenance, and production teams within a dynamic manufacturing environment specializing in rubber compounding and finishing operations. This hands-on role provides invaluable exposure to industrial machinery, process enhancement initiatives, reliability engineering, and safety-oriented problem-solving in a fast-paced plant setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting and optimizing mechanical systems, including mixers, extruders, presses, mills, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime, enhancing throughput, and maximizing equipment reliability.
- Perform time studies, data collection, and basic mechanical analysis to facilitate process optimization.
- Engage in preventive and predictive maintenance activities, including updating documentation and assessing equipment condition.
- Contribute to the development or revision of work instructions, equipment specifications, and engineering documentation such as drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
- Assist in root-cause investigations of equipment failures or process challenges using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and safety on various projects.
- Help with the installation, testing, and validation of new equipment or modifications to existing processes.
