Position Overview
As a Mechanical Estimator at AMCON, you will play a crucial role in the success of our projects by generating precise cost estimates for mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include scrutinizing project specifications, analyzing drawings, and working closely with project managers and engineers to craft accurate bidding proposals. You will have the opportunity to narrate the construction journey through 25% of the drawings. Additionally, you will engage in value engineering initiatives, pinpoint potential risks, document the estimating process, and aid our business development team. Your expertise in estimating software and mechanical systems will be vital in enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our project estimations.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate project specifications and engineering drawings to create accurate mechanical system cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather essential information for estimations.
- Develop detailed proposals that encompass material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Participate in value engineering discussions to explore potential cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Maintain comprehensive estimating records and contribute to establishing unit pricing for mechanical installations.
- Assist in business development by providing precise and timely estimates to clients.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical estimating within the construction sector.
- Proficient with estimating software and tools for mechanical systems.
- Strong grasp of mechanical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Effective analytical skills for project specifications and drawings.
- Outstanding mathematical abilities and attention to detail.
