About the job
Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor (Piping) in Abu Dhabi, where you will play a crucial role in the success of our piping projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for piping works, including spool fabrication and erection, with precise breakdowns by diameter-inch, spool count, fabricated spools, painted spools, NDE cleared spools, PWHT completed, and other relevant items. Maintain ongoing and accurate progress updates while ensuring data integrity throughout the project.
- Creating BOQs for specialized piping services such as painting, insulation, bolt torquing/tensioning, coatings, galvanizing, and other value-added services. Develop Material Take-Offs (MTOs) to facilitate procurement and construction.
- Conducting thorough MTOs by reviewing the Scope of Work (SoW), P&IDs, and other engineering documents. Ensure all required materials are documented, including unique items not explicitly shown in isometric drawings, such as spring supports, struts, rain hoods, bird screens, sliding plates, neoprene sheets, pickling paste, U-bolts, mechanical interlocks, car seal chains, quick couplings, hoses, hose reels, and other project-specific materials essential for procurement and cost estimation.
- Collaborating closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and quality control personnel to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in progress reports.
- Developing comprehensive reports detailing executed quantities, remaining quantities, progress metrics, and additional information required by management for informed decision-making.
- Reviewing and validating subcontractor invoices to ensure claimed quantities align with completed work, contract terms, approved BOQs, and project scope prior to payment approval.
- Overseeing piping materials management, including purchase requests, order placements, deliveries, issuance, and stock availability. Maintain detailed logs and reconciliation sheets to track material movement and promptly identify shortages or surpluses.
