The Mechanical Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functionality of equipment, machinery, vehicles, and generator sets. This position entails performing regular inspections, executing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and conducting necessary repairs to uphold operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on farm equipment and machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and have a prolonged service life.
Identify mechanical variances and implement corrective measures, consulting with the Maintenance Supervisor for unresolved issues.
Perform routine inspections and monitor machinery operating parameters, taking corrective actions as needed.
Execute scheduled lubrication tasks on plant equipment and machinery.
Design and oversee mechanical fabrication and installation projects.
Manage spare parts inventory and compile lists of required orders.
Inspect received spare parts to confirm quality and compliance with specifications before storage.
Document all completed work orders and maintain accurate records.
Respond to emergency service requests and be available for night calls as necessary.
Ensure compliance with 5S standards and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in supervising contractors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to specifications.
Lead the start-up processes of farm equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Effectively communicate essential information to the incoming shift engineer/technician.
Monitor and analyze fuel, water, and power consumption to identify abnormalities in relation to plant output.
Support efforts to maintain repair and maintenance costs within the monthly budget.
Propose project innovations aimed at minimizing operational costs, pending approval.
Food Safety:
Ensure adherence to quality, Halal (if applicable), health, and food safety policies and regulations.
Report any issues related to Halal, food safety, and quality management.
