As a Medical Records Technician, you will be equipped with company-provided laptops and portable scanners to facilitate your work across various medical facilities and hospitals, digitizing patient medical records with ease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized record system for patient information and documentation.
- Utilize electronic systems to effectively collect, sort, and manage data.
- Ensure that medical records are meticulously organized, accurate, and complete.
- Create digital copies of documents and securely store records electronically.
- Efficiently file paperwork and reports with precision.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and standards.
- Follow all confidentiality protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
- Collaborate with medical staff, healthcare providers, and other medical personnel.
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment, such as a hospital, clinic, or medical office, working with medical charts.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) / EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
- Intermediate understanding of medical charting, content, and terminology.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot common issues with printers and scanners.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with healthcare professionals.
Essential Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Access to a car with active insurance in the candidate's name (registration documentation required).
- Willingness to drive up to 60-80 miles or more round trip.
- Reliable internet access at home.
- Basic skills in PC and office equipment.
- Availability for flexible working hours.
