The Merchandiser for Purchased Retail Brands plays a critical role in propelling SanMar's retail apparel sector by cultivating robust partnerships with brands and steering seasonal product initiatives. This position emphasizes the discovery of premium product prospects for both men and women in corporate gifting, executive programs, and workwear markets. The Merchandiser collaborates closely with retail brand partners and various internal teams, including Planning, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and Distribution, to ensure the successful launch of seasonal products. Additionally, this role is pivotal in managing pricing negotiations, recommendations, and conflict resolution with retail brand partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison for retail brand partners, ensuring transparent and collaborative communication.
- Establish and nurture long-lasting relationships with retail brand partners to align on objectives and drive mutual business success.
- Facilitate pricing negotiations, provide recommendations, and resolve conflicts with brand partners.
- Identify new growth opportunities and product potential across retail brands and premium categories.
- Utilize a comprehensive understanding of product, delivery, and pricing needs across various markets and consumer demographics.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to inform assortment strategies and support category growth.
- Collaborate with category management and planning to meet revenue and margin targets.
- Provide financial analysis insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor performance metrics and deliver actionable recommendations to foster growth and align with SanMar's long-term objectives.
- Effectively communicate product and assortment strategies to retail brand partners and internal teams.
- Recommend product positioning and develop seasonal line plans in conjunction with brand partners.
- Advocate for product positioning in marketing and sales through various channels, including web and catalog.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for line planning, pricing, and product creation.
- Incorporate market trends and consumer insights into seasonal concepts and assortment planning.
- Review and approve style details, CADs, and prototypes to ensure alignment with SanMar's standards.
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations for internal reviews and brand partner meetings.
