As a Microsoft 365 Licensing Specialist at Agile IT, you will be the go-to expert for all things related to Microsoft licensing. Your role will encompass providing strategic advice and executing operational tasks across various channels and programs. You will assist our sales team and clients in identifying the best licensing options tailored to their specific needs, manage license orders and renewals, provision customer environments, address licensing inquiries, and ensure meticulous record-keeping.
This position demands a robust understanding of the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program along with the ability to thoroughly research and interpret Microsoft’s licensing documentation, including guides, terms, and agreements. Familiarity with the requirements of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) as it pertains to Microsoft GCC and GCC High licensing is a significant plus.
As a Tier-1 Microsoft Direct Bill partner, you will operate with a high level of autonomy, as our primary source of licensing expertise.
Core Responsibilities:
Licensing Advisory and Sales Support
- Act as the internal authority on Microsoft licensing programs, SKUs, and terms
- Support the sales team by providing guidance on licensing for customer scenarios, including complex deals
- Advise clients on licensing options, potential optimizations, and compliance strategies
- Interpret and clarify Microsoft licensing terms, agreements, and program rules
- Stay updated on changes in Microsoft programs and relay pertinent information to internal teams
- Offer insights on licensing strategies that align with CMMC and other regulatory cybersecurity standards
Research and Knowledge Management
- Conduct research and interpret Microsoft documentation (including MS Learn, License Agreements, Modern Work comparison resources, partner portals)
- Develop and maintain an internal licensing knowledge base and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Document frequently asked questions and create internal FAQ resources
- Update process documentation as Microsoft programs evolve
- Monitor recurring internal inquiries to identify areas for training and documentation improvement
- Participate in process enhancement initiatives
Licensing Operations
- Handle new license orders and renewals across various channels: CSP Commercial, GCC, GCC High (VLC), Azure Government, and Azure EA
- Provision licenses via Microsoft Partner Center, including new customer tenants, Azure subscriptions, and license adjustments
- Coordinate license renewal schedules, service cutoffs, and cancellation periods
- Maintain monthly updates on Microsoft license pricing to support the sales team
- Keep track of Microsoft licensing program changes that may affect product availability and pricing
