Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Responsibilities
- Lead a classroom independently or co-lead with colleagues, adjusting to the school’s needs throughout the year.
- Ensure every student feels valued and challenged daily.
- Create a safe and positive learning environment.
- Prepare and internalize engaging, rigorous lessons using provided curricula and resources.
- Design and implement academically aligned lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments as needed.
- Set ambitious growth goals for students and utilize resources to help them achieve these goals.
- Employ innovative teaching practices to deliver differentiated instruction for all students.
- Apply school-wide or grade-level culture systems and proactive classroom management techniques.
- Analyze student work and data to refine instructional practices and curricula.
- Maintain accurate student records and foster strong communication with families regarding student progress.
School and Professional Responsibilities
- Achieve required MTEL and SEI endorsements within the first year of employment, with financial support and study resources provided by KIPP MA.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including summer pre-service training and weekly sessions during the academic year.
- Take ownership of your professional growth by actively seeking feedback and collaborating with peers.
- Fulfill additional duties, including classroom coverage and supervision during transitions.
