About the Role:
We are on the lookout for a dynamic Mobile Engineering Manager to spearhead the evolution of our mobile experiences at Replit. In this pivotal role, you will cultivate and lead a team that seamlessly integrates design and engineering to craft intuitive and high-performance mobile interfaces, ensuring that software creation is accessible on any device. You will guide your team in developing production-ready frameworks and patterns that facilitate premium in-product experiences, empowering users to build applications from their smartphones or tablets with the same efficiency as on desktop.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assemble, mentor, and nurture a talented team of mobile design engineers, fostering a culture that prioritizes technical excellence and design innovation.
- Define and articulate the technical vision and strategy for mobile design systems, creating frameworks and patterns that are production-ready and scalable across iOS, Android, and responsive web platforms.
- Collaborate closely with design, product, and engineering leaders to prioritize mobile initiatives and ensure cohesive teamwork between design and development teams.
- Champion best practices in mobile-first development, guiding your team to construct production-quality patterns that deliver consistent, high-quality user experiences while optimizing performance.
- Supervise the architecture of complex mobile UI components and systems, providing technical insight and conducting code reviews to uphold high standards.
- Advocate for accessible and responsive interfaces through robust frameworks, establishing processes that enhance the mobile design-to-development workflow.
- Balance hands-on technical contributions with effective team management, remaining closely engaged with the code to inform architectural decisions.
