About the job
Organizational Overview
Contraceptive care is a fundamental aspect of healthcare. However, many patients across the U.S. face challenges in accessing the timely care they require. Established in 2014, Upstream USA is a national, nonpartisan nonprofit organization committed to providing equitable, patient-centered contraceptive care for all.
Our Mission and Impact
Upstream strives to empower individuals to make informed and independent choices about their contraceptive options. We proudly stand as the largest organization in the country dedicated to enhancing contraceptive care within primary care settings, operating in 37 states and Washington, D.C.
While our core initiatives focus on collaborating with healthcare organizations, including federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and health systems, we continually seek innovative solutions to ensure that every patient can access their preferred contraceptive services conveniently and efficiently.
A Unique Nonprofit Approach
Funded entirely through venture philanthropy, Upstream fosters a culture of rapid growth and a strong emphasis on measurable outcomes. To maintain our independence and impartiality, we do not accept government or pharmaceutical funding.
- Our 2030 Vision: We aim to partner with organizations to reach 5 million patients of reproductive age.
- Recognition: As a 2023 Audacious Project recipient, our initiatives have been highlighted in prestigious publications such as Harvard Public Health, Bloomberg, and MedPage Today.
We invite passionate individuals committed to making a significant impact to join us in realizing equitable contraceptive access for everyone.
