About the Role
We seek a National Security Policy Lead to spearhead our initiatives addressing various national security challenges linked to AI. This pivotal role will formulate and oversee policy strategies regarding national security during a crucial era of AI advancement and governance. As a proactive member of our national security team, your efforts will guarantee that Anthropic bolsters the security of U.S. and allied democracies, enhancing their geopolitical resilience and competitiveness while facilitating their AI adoption for defense and intelligence applications. You will collaborate extensively with colleagues across legal, trust and safety, product and sales, and research sectors.
In This Role, You Will:
Devise policy proposals to tackle national security issues associated with AI, and lead relevant policy engagements.
Shape Anthropic’s internal policies and strategies aimed at mitigating national security risks related to our products.
Formulate strategies to leverage AI in safeguarding the geopolitical strength and competitiveness of the United States and its allied democracies.
Foster and promote collaborations with national security stakeholders across the public and private sectors regarding model testing and deployment for national security purposes.
Work alongside technical teams to translate Anthropic's threat model research into actionable policy proposals, stakeholder education, and significant contributions to public discourse and debate.
Engage in thought leadership and strategize for the implications that powerful AI may have on the global national security landscape.
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
Possess over 10 years of experience in government or private sector roles focused on national security.
Hold an active TS/SCI clearance or have had one within the last two years, with the capability to obtain and maintain one.
Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
Have experience in policy-making or advisory roles related to national security, especially in relation to AI.
