The NERD Program
The VEG New ER Doctor (NERD) program is meticulously crafted to transform practicing veterinarians into skilled and confident emergency doctors. This six-month immersive experience combines rigorous academic training and hands-on clinical exposure, paving the way for participants to transition into full-time ER doctors at VEG upon successful completion. With a focus on surgical techniques, endoscopy skills, and effective customer care, this program ignites a passion for emergency medicine while emphasizing the importance of veterinary heroics.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with experienced VEG doctors, receiving mentorship through real ER cases with ongoing feedback and guidance—this is a hands-on learning opportunity.
- Gain direct ER experience by working 3-4 shifts per week at our state-of-the-art facilities, complemented by weekly case discussions and literature reviews.
- Master client-centered communication and care practices aligned with the VEG Way.
