As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, the Women and Children’s Occupational Therapist will report to the Clinical Services Manager to deliver exceptional care in our dynamic pediatric outpatient clinics. This role integrates seamlessly with inpatient services, including the Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Units, where comprehensive patient assessments, therapeutic interventions, and collaborative discharge planning are paramount. You will engage with patients and their families, providing individualized therapy and educational sessions to ensure optimal developmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, allied health professionals, nursing staff, and pediatricians to develop and implement tailored care plans using a pediatric-focused approach, ensuring continuous monitoring and evaluation of patient progress.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of infant and toddler feeding and development, applying both standardized and non-standardized tools.
- Facilitate individual and group educational sessions (both virtual and in-person) that address developmental and feeding needs.
- Be readily available for consultation requests from the Women’s and Children’s team, providing expert advice on patient care.
- Deliver compassionate and culturally sensitive occupational therapy services within a diverse environment.
- Support the Mental Health Program by leading educational group sessions on perinatal mental health related to Women and Children’s health.
