We are eager to welcome compassionate and reliable substitute educators to enrich our mixed-age Montessori classrooms whenever our full-time teachers are unavailable. No formal Montessori training is necessary as we provide comprehensive training during your orientation and onboarding.
About the Role
This is an on-call, as-needed position, perfect for individuals looking for flexible hours while positively impacting the lives of young children.
As a Substitute Teacher, you will support various classrooms catering to children aged 0–6, helping to cultivate a calm, engaging, and nurturing learning atmosphere.
Many of our substitute teachers transition into full-time Assistant Teacher roles, making this an excellent opportunity to start your career at Guidepost Montessori.
What You’ll Do
- Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain continuity.
- Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across various age groups.
- Help foster a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care.
- Exemplify patience, professionalism, and kindness in all interactions.

Minimum Qualifications
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
- Valid state background check.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
- Genuine passion for working with young children.
Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory):
- Completed Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
- Recent experience working with children ages 0–6.
