We are eager to welcome reliable and nurturing substitute guides to support our diverse Montessori classrooms when our full-time educators are unavailable. No prior Montessori training is necessary, as we will provide comprehensive training during your orientation and onboarding process.
About the Role
This on-call, as-needed position is perfect for individuals looking for flexible hours while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young children.
As a Substitute Teacher, you will assist in multiple classrooms catering to children aged 0–6, fostering a calm, engaging, and nurturing educational environment.
Many of our substitute teachers transition into full-time Assistant Teacher roles, making this a fantastic opportunity to begin your journey with Guidepost Montessori.
Your Responsibilities
- Step into classrooms as needed to support children and maintain consistency
- Assist with daily routines and classroom activities across mixed-age groups
- Create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care
- Exemplify patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction

Minimum Qualifications
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months
- Valid state background check
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly, dependable, and warm demeanor
- A passion for working with young children
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
- Recent experience working with children aged 0–6
