Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Baystate Interpreters, Inc. policies regarding information security and confidentiality, including HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, and other relevant regulations.
- Provide precise and accurate in-person interpretation between English and the designated target language.
- Follow established interpreter guidelines and procedures as set by Baystate Interpreters, Inc. and its partnering clients.
- Uphold the ethical standards of IMIA, NCIHC, ATA, NAJIT, ISO, and other recognized professional organizations, ensuring impartiality, confidentiality, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.
- Engage in respectful and professional communication with clients, patients, medical professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Continuously refine specialized terminology and domain knowledge, particularly in medical, legal, and social services contexts, to effectively support client needs.
- Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and discretion during all interpreting assignments.
- Deliver high-quality interpretations without altering, omitting, or adding information, in alignment with industry best practices.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and customer service skills while assisting clients in sensitive or complex situations.
