Join our dynamic team as an Operations Manager at a rapidly expanding aerospace composite manufacturing firm. This pivotal role oversees the complete manufacturing operations within a prepreg-based composite setting, facilitating both research and development as well as production initiatives.
This is a hands-on leadership position, necessitating extensive experience in aerospace composite fabrication, not general manufacturing or metal-based processes.
Manufacturing Operations
Direct daily manufacturing activities, including scheduling, throughput, and work-in-progress management.
Guarantee that composite manufacturing processes adhere to quality, performance, and efficiency benchmarks (prepreg layup, curing, trimming, bonding, finishing).
Supervise the safe and dependable operation of equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance and capital planning.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to ensure seamless transitions from R&D to production.
Supply Chain & Materials
Manage raw material flow, inventory control, supplier coordination, and outsourcing logistics.
Ensure traceability and compliance with shelf-life requirements for prepreg and other controlled materials.
Workforce & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, technicians, and support personnel.
Encourage cross-training, accountability, and high-performance teamwork.
Embody Innovative Composite Engineering's values of innovation, collaboration, and excellence through exemplary leadership.
Continuous Improvement
Promote Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, visual factory, and standard work methodologies.
Establish and implement KPIs to monitor productivity, quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
Identify operational bottlenecks, lead root cause analyses, and implement enduring improvements.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as the operational representative in new product introductions, quoting processes, and strategic planning.
Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to align production capabilities with customer expectations.
Support compliance with regulatory and certification standards, including NADCAP, AS9100, and customer audits.
