We are currently seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager for our Bird & Residential team, situated in Port Melbourne. This pivotal role reports directly to the Victorian Business Manager and places you as a senior leader within our Melbourne operations, overseeing a dedicated team of 27 professionals whose contributions are critical to our branch's success.
We are in search of a passionate and motivated leader with a proactive attitude and the integrity to inspire success within our team. This position requires a balance between managing our residential portfolio and the effective end-to-end execution of intricate industrial bird-control projects.
Key Responsibilities
As the Operations Manager, you will foster team engagement, ensure consistent service delivery, and achieve strong profit outcomes. Your responsibilities will encompass the following primary areas:
Project Initiation, Planning & Execution
- Collaborative Scoping: Work closely with Sales teams during the tendering process to define project scopes, estimate costs, and establish clear objectives.
- Strategic Planning: Create comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, incorporating effective risk management strategies.
- Delivery Excellence: Direct the execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Operational Leadership & Resource Management
- Team Management: Lead and supervise Technicians, Local Service Managers (Supervisors), and internal stakeholders to optimize productivity.
- Resource Allocation: Assign tasks and manage resources effectively, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Fleet & Stock Management: Oversee the vehicle fleet and inventory to enhance operational efficiency.
Stakeholder & Risk Management
- Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main liaison between clients, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams (including SHE and Sales), providing regular updates.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and evaluate project risks, implementing change management practices to maintain project deliverables on schedule.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety of personnel and adherence to SHE standards is a top priority.
