Join AbbVie as an Oracle Database Administrator and play a vital role in our database administration function, which provides extensive technical expertise in Oracle Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). You will be instrumental in designing, building, securing, and maintaining the data structures that house critical information for our computerized systems. Your proficiency in backup and recovery will be essential as you perform various database administration activities, including modifications, enhancements, expansions, and capacity planning, all while ensuring compliance with our corporate policies and procedures.
As a key player in our database management team, you will deliver advanced technical support aimed at optimizing the performance of Oracle database software. You will provide technical assistance to IT clients in designing and tuning application systems, as well as facilitating data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Review, validate, and enhance logical database designs while defining and implementing physical databases.
- Conduct database administration activities, including modifications and enhancements.
- Monitor production database performance and conduct capacity planning. Install, test, and upgrade database releases and associated products.
- Diagnose and address database-related issues, including outages and application performance.
- Lead the establishment of database standards and procedures, and evaluate new database software and tools.
- Engage daily with clients on various projects and collaborate with technical support teams across the organization.
- Oversee the administration, security, configuration, and maintenance of the Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) infrastructure, focusing on database performance monitoring and ensuring high availability.
