Join our dynamic team at Northwestern Medicine as a part-time Simulation Education Specialist, supporting both Kishwaukee and Valley West Hospitals. This position may involve occasional travel to Central DuPage Hospital or Delnor Hospital.
Typical working hours are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of early morning or evening shifts to support in-situ training sessions.
While an active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement.

This role is pivotal in enhancing healthcare delivery through simulation-based education, innovation, and research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult on the effective use of simulation for educational objectives.
- Assist in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation projects.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create clinical scenarios.
- Conduct testing and pilot new simulation scenarios.
- Develop and implement evaluation tools to measure simulation outcomes.
- Regularly review and assess simulation courses for effectiveness, utilizing benchmark data for improvement.
- Support grant writing efforts for the simulation program.
- Act as a backup for simulator operations.
- Educate colleagues on simulation pedagogy.
- Mentor emerging simulation facilitators.
- Contribute to the development of simulation policies and procedures aligned with program goals and accreditation standards.
- Maintain and analyze data regarding simulation activities.
- Develop communication tools related to simulation initiatives.
- Engage in simulation research, data collection, and analysis.
- Pursue professional development through workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Ensure data confidentiality and security.
- Assist with guided tours for visitors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
