Under the guidance of the Piledriver Supervisor, the Piledriver Engine Operator plays a crucial role in operating and maintaining barge-mounted and mobile land-based cranes that facilitate pile driving operations. This position offers the opportunity to work either independently or as an integral part of a dedicated piledriving crew. Responsibilities include a variety of tasks associated with the repair and construction of piers, wharves, and related substructures. Duties may involve assisting with placing, driving, and capping piles; laying stringers and decking; framing timbers; and demolishing and removing damaged structural components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and maintain barge-mounted and mobile land-based cranes essential for piledriving operations; may also drive forklifts, Port vehicles, and small boats.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes and related piledriving equipment.
- Fuel cranes as needed.
- Conduct thorough pre and post operational checks of the crane systems.
- Participate in the inspection and certification processes for cranes and auxiliary equipment.
- Fulfill other related duties as required for the Class 9331 Piledriver Engine Operator role.
Work Environment:This role may involve working under adverse weather conditions, on weekends, and during extended hours outside of regular shifts.
