The Pre-K Paraprofessional at KIPP Kansas City is integral to fostering the growth and education of young learners in the classroom setting. This role is tailored to support the Pre-K teacher in cultivating a nurturing and interactive environment where children can thrive, explore, and develop. The Pre-K Paraprofessional will engage closely with students to enhance their social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
- Assist the Pre-K teacher in crafting and executing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Provide individualized and small group support during learning sessions, reinforcing educational concepts and skills.
- Help maintain a dynamic and organized classroom atmosphere conducive to curiosity and exploration.
Behavioral Support:
- Encourage students in developing social skills and emotional regulation through positive reinforcement and mentorship.
- Assist in applying classroom management techniques to foster a constructive and engaging learning environment.
- Work in collaboration with the Pre-K teacher to meet the specific needs of individual students and promote their behavioral and emotional development.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Effectively communicate with the Pre-K teacher regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to strategies that enhance student learning and development.
- Uphold confidentiality concerning student information and comply with school policies and procedures.
