We are seeking a talented Principal Civil Engineer to join our expanding Water team in Chesterfield, Leeds, Manchester, or Birmingham. Within our innovative and collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in executing projects that enhance the quality of life across the UK and beyond.
This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in some of the most prestigious and fulfilling infrastructure initiatives within the water sector. Our collaborations span water and sewerage providers, local authorities, and national clients, focusing on projects from upgrading treatment facilities to developing sustainable long-term strategies.
As a member of our dynamic local team of skilled civil engineers, you will work alongside experts from apprentice to director levels, integrated with our extensive national Water team. This position provides a chance to offer technical leadership, mentor junior colleagues, and guide their professional growth through management and training support. You will also have opportunities to enhance your own skills in project and client management, along with ongoing professional development and career advancement.
Recent Projects Include:
- Significant upgrades to sewage and water treatment facilities at Wanlip, Matlock, and Worcester for Severn Trent.
- CSO investigations and solutions for Anglian Water and Scottish Water (Caledonia Water Alliance).
- Local infrastructure projects for Derbyshire County Council and Derby City.
- Strategic consultancy for national clients including DEFRA, Network Rail, and National Highways.
Our work encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility and design to implementation and asset management, providing a range of experiences, challenges, and meaningful contributions.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with engineers, modellers, environmental scientists, and various specialists to deliver exceptional water and wastewater projects.
- Contributing through all design phases, from initial concept to detailed design and technical documentation.
- Utilizing innovative and practical approaches to address real-world engineering issues.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices in all designs.
- Leading the technical execution of major projects and reviewing the work of peers.
- Effectively managing project scope, budget, and timelines.
- Fostering strong relationships with clients, providing regular progress updates and technical insights.
- Mentoring and assisting early-career professionals within your team.
