We are seeking a Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to enhance our expanding Investigations and Remediation team. You will have the option to work from various office locations including Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Chesterfield, Croydon, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Plymouth, with flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the delivery of ground investigation, contamination assessment, and remediation projects, acting as both project manager and technical lead.
Currently, our AECOM Investigations and Remediation Practice in the UK and Ireland is managing around 400 active projects. Our experts provide comprehensive services, including desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments, and remediation strategies (development, design, implementation, and validation) across various contracts. Our work spans multiple sectors including transportation (road, rail, airports, and ports), industrial projects for specialist manufacturers, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, renewable energy (solar, hydrogen, wind, pump-hydro), development, defense, and public sector collaborations with organizations such as Natural England, the National Trust, and government agencies including the Environment Agency, SEPA, and DEFRA.
Our award-winning team provides solutions for a diverse array of clients and markets. We collaborate with leading UK and international clients on projects of various scales; notable recent projects include the Thames Tideway, HS2, Net Zero Teeside, and A303 Stonehenge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare fee proposals for both external and internal clients, guiding projects from desk study and feasibility stages through ground investigation and data interpretation to final design.
- Provide technical leadership to develop conceptual site models, interpret soil and groundwater data, and advance projects to successful remediation.
- Deliver client-facing services, manage projects, and oversee commercial and contract aspects, while mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance.
