We are in search of a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer – Design & Analysis to serve as a senior Subject Matter Expert across our worldwide operations. This specialized engineering position emphasizes advanced design, simulation, modeling, and first-principles analysis of intricate mechanical systems.
While extensive experience with Bulk Materials Handling equipment (such as crushers, mills, screens, conveyors, thickeners, and rotating machinery) is highly desirable, we also encourage applicants from other rigorous engineering disciplines like aerospace, petrochemical, automotive, defense, marine, or other heavy industrial sectors where mechanical and structural integrity, advanced simulation, and theoretical engineering are paramount.
This position is not centered on operational maintenance; instead, it focuses on deep technical, high-precision design and analysis, requiring expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Discrete Element Modeling (DEM), dynamic simulations, digital engineering, and root cause analysis.

You are a highly analytical, technically proficient mechanical engineer who excels at tackling complex challenges using simulation, modeling, and theoretical analysis. Regardless of whether your expertise lies in mining, aerospace, automotive, petrochemicals, defense, or another demanding engineering domain, you possess strong engineering fundamentals, a systems-oriented mindset, and the capability to impact engineering decisions on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide SME-level guidance, support, and oversight regarding the design, performance, safety, and integrity of mechanical systems (including bulk materials handling equipment and Heavy Earth Moving Equipment) across global operations.
- Lead advanced FEA, DEM, structural modeling, and dynamic simulation tasks to identify issues, validate designs, and improve equipment reliability.
- Conduct thorough first-principles failure investigations, employing theoretical modeling and structured analysis to ascertain root causes and formulate engineered solutions.
- Establish, uphold, and enhance Mechanical Engineering standards, technical specifications, and best-practice principles across the organization.
- Assist project, engineering, maintenance, and operational teams with conceptual design, Hazops, risk assessments, and technical reviews.
- Promote the adoption of simulation, modeling, and digital engineering throughout the organization.
- Perform integrity and safety assessments for pressure systems, lifting equipment, and heavy mechanical assets.
- Ensure alignment with international engineering standards, legislation, and industry best practices in all mechanical design and analysis initiatives.
