In this pivotal role, you will contribute to significant water projects, both locally and internationally, enhancing flood alleviation strategies, reducing pollution, and optimizing infrastructure. Our unique approach integrates our modelling team with broader project teams, fostering collaboration with experts in various disciplines to create comprehensive solutions.
As a leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we collaborate with both public and private sector clients, including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, and the Environment Agency. We deliver Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, hydraulic models, and detailed designs, all while shaping industry standards through our guidance on best practices, ensuring AECOM remains at the cutting edge of the water sector. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to support a passionate and diverse team dedicated to innovation and efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the creation, calibration, and validation of wastewater network models (e.g., InfoWorks ICM or similar platforms).
- Providing technical oversight and quality assurance across various projects while guiding project teams.
- Conducting and supervising technical and administrative tasks related to hydrology and groundwater investigations to inform wastewater modelling studies.
- Delivering projects that may intersect with hydrology and related technical fields, adhering to defined project terms with appropriate professional review.
- Analyzing complex datasets and modelling outputs, and producing clear, high-quality technical reports and client deliverables.
- Monitoring and interpreting data to assess the impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems and the broader environment, ensuring compliance with relevant permits and regulations.
- Acting as the technical lead on major frameworks and modelling programs, supporting strategic planning, storm overflow reduction, and network resilience initiatives.
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to bids and business development efforts.
