As a PRN Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Plum Creek Recovery Ranch, you will play a vital role in supporting clients on their journey to recovery from alcohol and substance abuse. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, engaging in therapeutic activities, and promoting socialization within a safe and supportive environment.
Your key duties will involve observing clients closely to ensure their safety, participating in group therapy sessions, and collaborating with the treatment team to provide input on client behaviors and progress. You will also participate in educational and community groups, encouraging client engagement and progression in their treatment plans.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular observations and one-on-one sessions as per hospital protocols, ensuring no gaps in monitoring.
- Assist in identifying client needs and strengths, providing constructive feedback to modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Facilitate group discussions and educational sessions, fostering an inclusive and therapeutic environment for all participants.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding client behaviors and any observed changes.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN), adapting to unit needs as required.
- Uphold professional boundaries with clients and staff, ensuring a respectful interaction at all times.
- Implement de-escalation techniques proactively and alert nursing staff to significant changes in client behavior.
- Maintain awareness of the daily schedule, ensuring that clients remain engaged in scheduled activities.
- Support the orientation of new clients to the program and therapeutic milieu.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment through various administrative and clerical tasks as directed.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance your skills and competencies.
