The Process Engineer will work in tandem with Production Management and shop floor teams to implement continuous enhancements in production processes, equipment, and overall operational efficiency. This role focuses on optimizing processes to minimize waste, improve product quality, and uphold safety standards. The Process Engineer is essential in maintaining seamless production flow while ensuring compliance with industry standards and company protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety for yourself and team members, ensuring a secure working environment.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and managers to sustain a safe and healthy workplace.
- Utilize appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), such as fall protection and respiratory gear.
- Implement proper lifting and ergonomic techniques to avert injuries.
- Embrace and promote The McWane Way Principles in all work endeavors.
- Work with Production Management to collect feedback and identify opportunities for ongoing process improvements on the shop floor.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC and manual machinery.
- Track and adjust cycle times in conjunction with supervisors and cost accounting to ensure productivity.
- Design and deploy equipment solutions aimed at error-proofing and automating processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Conduct process and equipment validations in partnership with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
- Facilitate the introduction of new processes, products, and prints by training and guiding team members.
- Contribute to new product development initiatives by offering manufacturing feasibility analyses and technical guidance.
- Maintain clear and concise communication, both verbal and written, with management, team members, and relevant stakeholders.
- Stay informed on the latest machining techniques, materials science, CAD software, and mechanical engineering advancements.
- Assist the manufacturing engineering team in evaluating, designing, and maintaining fixture and tooling requirements, ensuring alignment with efficient and cost-effective manufacturing practices.
- Support QA and Engineering in document control processes, ensuring the accuracy and maintenance of records related to fixtures, tooling, and machine information.
- Help process prints and process sheets, ensuring all documentation is current.
