Design is essential to our success. To fulfill our mission, it is vital to make coding agents intuitive and user-friendly. We are seeking a Product Designer to develop products that are not only functional but also visually appealing and innovative. As an early member of our team, you will significantly influence our product development and design ethos.
About the Role
In your role as a Product Designer with Codex, you will work collaboratively with a select team of designers and interdisciplinary partners to redefine coding for the future. You will liaise with top-tier engineers and researchers, bringing state-of-the-art features to developers. Your responsibilities will involve end-to-end design of new functionalities and enhancements across various Codex products, striking a balance between high-quality craftsmanship, rapid iteration, and insightful product intuition. You will play a key role in guiding our trajectory as we advance our technology, product offerings, and design philosophies.
This position is located in San Francisco, CA, and follows a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days in the office weekly. Relocation assistance is available for new hires.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the overarching design and product strategy for OpenAI’s offerings.
Design and deliver high-quality products and enhancements, from initial concepts to polished prototypes and visuals.
Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, research, and design colleagues to establish both long-term vision and immediate strategies.
Conduct user research to gain insights into our users (software developers) and improve our products.
Help refine and advance our design system.
Play a role in cultivating our design culture and expanding our team.
