About the job
At JetBrains, we are passionate about code. Since our inception in 2000, our mission has been to empower developers by streamlining their workflows and minimizing distractions through automation of routine checks and fixes.
Hexana is an innovative project within JetBrains’ Innovation Hub, dedicated to creating a groundbreaking reverse engineering and binary analysis toolkit. Our goal is to seamlessly integrate semantic understanding of compiled binaries into the IDE alongside AI-assisted disassembly workflows.
Having launched Hexana with WebAssembly, we are proud to announce that our MVP has garnered over 1,000 downloads, attracting early adopters from prestigious teams, including those at Oracle and various players within the Kotlin ecosystem. We are now ready to expand our focus into the broader binary landscape, encompassing ELF, Mach-O, PE, APE, LLVM bytecode, and beyond. Our vision is to establish a new category within the IDE ecosystem.
We are looking for a Product Manager to guide Hexana from early validation to a scalable, strategically positioned product by spearheading research initiatives, refining our strategic direction, and making a compelling case for long-term impact.
This role is ideal for you if you:
- Aspire to shape a new category in developer tooling.
- Have a genuine interest in low-level systems, binaries, and reverse engineering.
- Thrive at the intersection of deep technical work and product strategy.
- Enjoy collaborating with a small, highly skilled technical team.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting discovery interviews with system engineers, reverse engineers, compiler developers, and other advanced users to comprehend their workflows and requirements at the binary level.
- Translating technical capabilities and user challenges into a well-defined, defensible product roadmap.
- Continuously validating hypotheses and refining our positioning through thorough research and competitive analysis.
- Monitoring the reverse engineering and binary tooling landscape, including tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, and Binary Ninja, to guide our strategy.
- Defining and evolving our go-to-market and monetization strategy.
- Communicating product developments, strategy, and outcomes to JetBrains sponsors and internal stakeholders.
We would be delighted to welcome you to our team if you:
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or a similar role with comparable responsibilities.
- Have a track record of building or scaling developer tools, IDE plugins, workflow platforms, or other technically complex products.
- Have directly influenced the success of a technically intricate product.
- Exhibit a strong technical mindset, earning the respect of engineers working on compilers, binary formats, and low-level systems.
- Are adept at collaborating with technical teams.
