Position Overview:
The Production Planner plays a critical role in crafting and implementing production strategies that maximize cost-effectiveness, operational efficiency, and production capacity while aligning with business objectives. This position involves the development and maintenance of production schedules that meet customer demand and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate production plans to harmonize supply forecasts with cost, efficiency, and capacity parameters.
- Generate and communicate the daily master production schedule in accordance with business requirements.
- Analyze and recommend strategies for cost reduction.
- Continually refine inventory strategies to optimize investment while enhancing inventory turnover and achieving service level targets.
- Identify and report any discrepancies in the supply plan, along with proposed solutions and recommendations.
- Oversee product supply remediation activities and conduct root cause analysis on service and inventory issues for designated categories.
- Act as a subject matter expert in production planning for various cross-functional project teams.
- Collaborate on and execute supply chain improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Supply Planners and the Maintenance team to ensure key performance indicators are met.
- Expedite operations that disrupt schedules and adjust plans to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators for the production planning function to the broader team.
- Manage and schedule downtime requests from cross-functional departments, including Engineering and R&D.
- Coordinate with Materials Planning to ensure raw material supply aligns with production requirements.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing principles.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
