Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor will play a crucial role in assisting the Operations Manager in overseeing all facets of production at our Kankakee facility. This position will collaborate with various departments such as Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving, and Quality Assurance to enhance production quality while minimizing costs and optimizing labor and resource utilization, ultimately achieving maximum output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in regular discussions with the Production Manager and Operations Manager to review the production plan on a daily and weekly basis.
- Daily evaluation of production goals with team members to assess achievements and identify barriers to success, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Monitor labor and yield efficiencies for each shift, adjusting manpower as needed to boost productivity.
- Maintain an efficient labor force while ensuring compliance with the established labor budget.
- Support training initiatives for production staff to enhance product knowledge and operational skills.
- Coordinate with fellow Production Supervisors to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Oversee the availability of quality raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Ensure adherence to all processing and preparation protocols.
- Guarantee compliance with product specifications regarding cut sizes, volumes, labeling, packaging, and quality standards.
- Facilitate sample production and assist in the development of new products.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to monitor processing and finished product temperatures.
- Supervise chlorine levels and ensure that cold chain systems are consistently maintained throughout processing.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet or exceed established specifications.
- Regularly review Quality, GMP, and HACCP standards to ensure company performance benchmarks are achieved or exceeded.
- Effectively communicate production-related issues and changes with Managers, Supervisors, and location leadership.
