EnerMech is looking for a highly experienced Project Commercial Director to lead and enhance commercial strategies across significant projects throughout the Americas. This pivotal position, based in Houston, is dedicated to optimizing project profitability by employing robust commercial, contract, and risk management methodologies. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in EPC contracts, adept claims management, and familiarity with industry-standard commercial frameworks while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Project Leadership: Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Deliver detailed project costing, margin, and cash flow reports.
- Manage change order processes, negotiate costs with clients, and finalize accounts effectively.
- Work closely with Legal and Project Execution teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Review, negotiate, and finalize contracts, subcontracts, and purchase agreements.
- Lead claims management activities, addressing schedule delays, disruptions, and variations valuations.
- Ensure adherence to client specifications and industry-standard commercial models.
- Implement strategic commercial risk management initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive cost and risk analyses to ensure project profitability.
- Interface with client commercial and contract teams to facilitate positive results.
- Support supplier engagement, selection, and management processes.
- Willingness to travel 30–40% to project sites across the Americas, including potential extended stays.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of commercial/project management experience in the energy, industrial, infrastructure, or defense sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of contracts, especially EPC contracts.
- Demonstrated expertise in claims management, cost analysis, and risk mitigation practices.
- Proven track record of managing high-volume projects and leading teams under stringent deadlines.
- Exceptional written communication, negotiation, and commercial skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in mentoring and developing commercial teams.
- Familiarity with multi-year, multi-service framework agreements.
